This week I wrote the almost final draft of a book chapter, two articles for the business magazine, and my sermon. We’re in the midst of charge conference season, which means more paperwork to come, but now at the beginning of a new week it’s starting to fee like things are getting back to normal.
One further sign of this return to normalcy is that the regular carrier from R5 called me today while I was in the middle of a finance committee meeting. We were working on the budget for our church. He wants a three day weekend and I’m the lucky guy who now gets to do the monster route tomorrow.
I should take it as a good sign. Mercifully, the government has been leaving me quite alone for the past six weeks. That’s bound to change as the holidays approach, and this is a certain sign of that change.
It’s fine with me. I’ve yet to know what normal feels like in this part-time pastor life.
