The other day I was contacted by yet another long lost friend. I’m not sure if I remember correctly but the last time I saw her may have been at her wedding, which a small portion of my then band “Stained Glass” provided some music for. I’m not sure I want to guess at how long ago it was, probably 1990 or 1991. I do
remember driving my yellow VW Cabriolet to and from, so it must have been 1990 or after.
She found me in what must now be referred to as the usual way, by googling my name and stumbling onto my blog. Perhaps she will chime in with a comment to tell us the year of her wedding.
*So perhaps you are wondering how she came to google me? Or maybe not, but I’m gonna tell you anyway. She and her husband were apparently reading through some old copies of Alive Now, a devotional magazine. Yes, there are people in the world who do this… at least two of them. They just happened to open a copy of Alive Now that contained one of my published pieces, entitled God Would Rather Bless. This is quite a feat, since Alive Now has been published every other month for more than thirty years and I’ve been in it twice. So they wondered, “could this be the same Jim Jannotti that played and sang so badly at our wedding” (actually, I didn’t do much singing, so it probably wasn’t all that bad)? Off to google she went.
