I was listening to this NPR story and right from the outset was floored by this statistic: the average household has credit card debt of $7,753.
What!? Is this true. No backup was given for the figure. Has anyone heard something similar? I find this hard to believe.
Today, I did route 5 (showed up at case, sorted mail, loaded vehicle, delivered route, returned to PO, finished afternoon casing) in just over eight hours. The first time I did this route by myself was almost a year ago and it took me 14 hours. Fourteen! And they had to send two people out to help me.
A year ago today, I blew two tires on doing the same route. On that day it took me almost six hours just to deliver two thirds of it.
I’m much more competent now than I was a year ago. Hard to believe.
But also, the higher profile and 4-wheel-drive-over-anything Teal Tank makes a huge difference. Can I tell you how great it is not to have to occaisonally but repeatedly stick my upper torso out of the car? My goodness, it’s almost like being on vacation.
Okay, maybe not.
