Considering my personal history, faith journey, worldview, etc I must say that this is one of the most wonderfully encouraging and uplifting blog posts I’ve seen. It is written by Searchie*, who honors me simply by dropping by this blog (and occasionally leaving a comment).
Do her the favor of reading it, if you would..
I love your dream, W.
*If Searchie allowed comments on her blog, this would be mine: Regarding the visual illustration at the beginning of this post, I would contend that the future looks like that for all of us, but only the courageous admit it.
I’ve been to Texas twice and loved it both times. I’d go back in a heartbeat, but I don’t think I’d go to the same lengths to which this young man went. Yowza!
the 9-year-old Lakewood boy went to desperate lengths to get to Dallas, police say, running away from home Monday, hopping a Southwest Airlines flight from Sea-Tac Airport to Phoenix on Tuesday, then a flight to San Antonio, where he was finally taken into custody.
Here’s the kicker, though. After running away, jacking a car, and getting on a plane by who knows what means, young Semaj (that’s James spelled backwards in case you were wondering):
ended up in San Antonio instead of Dallas because he boarded the wrong plane in Phoenix.
A mistake anybody could easily make. The Phoenix airport is a mess!
You know what they say: You can take the boy out of Texas… but you can also take a stolen car and two flights to get back.
Or something like that.
Tip o’ the Texas Ten Gallon to the endlessly intertaining Obscure Store.
