Our local paper ran the story on the front page of the dead tree edition, but it wasn’t on the web site until this afternoon. Did I mention that I had to cook dinner last night because of this?
Let me begin by saying that everyone involved is fine.
The bank where my wife works was robbed yesterday. I’m not seeing any news stories about it in our local paper or on TV, so I’m not going to reveal any details about the event itself, not that I know any.
The worst result of the crime seems to have been that my wife was late for dinner. Nothing happened to the tellers or the other customers who were present. This was probably because the teller who faced the robber did what he asked without telegraphing any emotion. Who knows how many lives she may have saved by doing so.
If a news story about this ever appears, I’ll link to it.

Glad everyone’s ok! How freaky.
Tim’s CO (when he was still in the Army) was a bank robbery hostage (they kept him, let the others go) for two days when we were in SC. It’s strange how you realize that bad things like this probably will happen to people you know at some point…but you still never expect it. (Well, I never expect it.)

I’m not sure this quite falls into the category of “Bad Thing.” According to my wife no one even knew there had been a robbery until the perp had left the building. The teller’s coolness under pressure made it a non-event.
Being held hostage for two days after everyone else is let go is an entirely different universe.
Joy was not even fazed by it. Of course, she’s not fazed by much.

Let me revise that: maybe there was one adverse consequence. I wasn’t supposed to have to cook dinner last night!

A friend of mine was a recipient of one of those “notes”. She told me she handed him a bag with the marked bills. After he left the bank the police caught him on the bus and all of the money was returned. Most important of all no one was harmed. I am glad such was the case with your wife and co workers.

“in the borough”? Oh, right, Pottsborough. I nearly forgot.
Have you had that pinky looked at by a doctor yet?
